Physical Characteristics and Health
I’m 5’7”, and about 185 lbs. I am quite bald and don't plan to spend the money it would take to change that. I have a couple of cool tattoos and would like more.
Substance Use
I decided to quit alcohol in 2022. I’m proud of but not defined by my sobriety. It’s a lifelong decision not to drink anymore. “Alcoholic” isn’t a word I use to describe myself, but the poison had gotten the better of me enough times that I decided to stop. I don’t attend any meetings or anything else to maintain my status as a non-drinker. But that’s who I am, and I keep it that way through healthy thinking and awareness. You can drink, but I don’t want alcohol stored in my home.
I don’t smoke (but did in my teens and 20s) and don’t do any drugs. I’ve had THC in plant and gummy form, but all more than three years ago, and even then, it was rare, like maybe 12 times in my life. I might try it again, but I’m not looking to do so right now.
I won’t date a tobacco/vape user, or anyone who does hard drugs. Moderate use of THC and alcohol are OK.
Overall Health
I’m not afraid to go to the doctor and see mine at least once per year. I’m healthy overall. BP, respiration and bloodwork typically fall within normal levels.
I take an SSRI for my mental health, and it’s helpful. I adjust the dose as needed.
I get most vaccines when they're due but didn't make getting a flu shot a priority this year, and I believe I paid for the mistake!
I've had my recommended colonoscopy, and will get the shingles vaccine when it's time. I had shingles in 2020. Not fun!
I've been diagnosed with pulmonary sarcoidosis, but have never has to treat it. Symptoms aren't really there. You can read about it here.
I've never been diagnosed with any sexually transmitted diseases and will gladly test again.
Physical Activity
I can still run pretty fast – just not for very long. I’m not planning on doing marathons, but I am up for topping the age bracket in a 5k! I’m happy to go on walks or hikes and do some manual labor.
Everything on my body works the way it should. I like riding my bicycle and playing sports, but I don’t do so very often.
I keep MEANING to do more physical activity but winter makes that tougher.
Let's Talk about Sex, Baby
Following Salt-N-Pepa’s sage advice from the '90s, we really should talk about it. Don’t worry, this won’t be graphic. As you might expect, I enjoy it very much! I know sex is best when mind, body, heart, and environment are all on the same sheet of music.
I've had a vasectomy and have never tested positive for an STI/STD.
It’s important to me that sex is part of a relationship and that we both find joy in it.There’s plenty more to say, but I hope this is enough for now, because I think this is a discussion – both verbal and non-verbal- for later.
